No job is too big, and no door is too small. We have lifting machinery for large and heavy equipment, and we’ll take apart anything that was built in place. We’ve used cherry pickers to get fume cupboards out of a first floor lab. We hold a WEEE waste carrier’s licence, and anything that can’t be reused is disposed of responsibly, with specialist services brought in where needed.

How a lab clearance works

  1. Tell us about the lab. What’s in it, where it is and when it needs to be empty. Use the form below or call 01257 270 433, and we’ll come back to you with a quote and an estimated timescale.
  2. We plan it. We book the job, complete a risk assessment and sort out the health and safety paperwork before we arrive. If there’s a site team or a building contractor, we work with them.
  3. We clear it. We use our own team and vans, not third-party couriers, so there’s no risk of a courier cancelling or turning up late. We can usually be on site within weeks, not months, and we can handle decontamination and decommissioning on request.
  4. You get the space back. Working equipment goes back to our base in Chorley for our engineers to check, then on to other labs. Its value can be offset against the cost of the clearance, and everything we take is repurposed, refurbished or recycled.

Moving to a new lab?

We pack and move labs as well as clearing them, in the UK and overseas. We’ve packed a London biotech lab for a move across several sites, and moved a Surrey lab roughly 1,000 miles to Budapest, ULT freezers and samples included. We can arrange the export paperwork too.

If you don’t need a whole lab cleared, we buy single instruments too and collect from anywhere in the UK. If you’re replacing equipment, you can take credit towards new equipment or a part exchange instead of cash.

Yes. Anything that has held biological, chemical or radioactive material needs decontaminating before it’s moved, with a declaration saying what was done. If that’s more than your team can take on, we can handle decontamination and decommissioning for you.

Everything we take is repurposed, refurbished or recycled. Working equipment goes back to our base in Chorley, where our engineers check and service it before it’s sold on to other labs. Usable parts are kept for repairs, and anything that can’t be reused goes for licensed recycling.
