About Richmond Scientific

For over twenty-five years we’ve been trading in used scientific equipment of almost every type and specification, giving us a broad base of knowledge which helps us assist our customers in sourcing the best value equipment on the market. 

Our ethos is rooted in our family approach—we are small, efficient and always ready to respond to the demands of our customers, some of whom we have been looking after since the beginning. 

The team is headed by husband and wife Nick and Wendy Edmond and supported by their two sons Richard and Robert. Alongside them is a dedicated team dealing with sales, buying, administration and accounts.

Nick is the founder of Richmond Scientific and has been at the helm for over 25 years now. He is renowned in the industry as the man to call if you need to kit out a lab on a budget, and prides himself on running a fair business which provides good value equipment and great service to its customers, some of whom Nick has been helping out since the beginning.

The other half of the dynamic Richmond duo, Wendy has been managing the accounts for the business since the beginning, and still keeps her eye on them today. Nothing get’s past her and she advises on where the business should go and how we can better serve our customers.

Debbie is Nick’s executive assistant and keeps everybody in the office, not only Nick, on task. She deals with buying and sales, so most customers will hear Deb’s voice during their dealings with us. She has a a great eye for detail and can be relied on to keep everything organised and running smoothly.

Warehouse Supervisor

Stuart is the main link between the office and warehouse, he makes sure the correct items are being picked and packed for each order and that they are complete and working as described. He also flies up and down the country dropping off smaller orders and making collections. He’s a mad Wanderers fan!

Cheryl looks after the day to day operations of the business, credit control and dispatch with a straight talking, no-nonsense approach. If you want a job doing properly, ask Cheryl!

Facilities Manager

Rob does a bit of everything here. He usually handles clearances and disposal, along with helping with logistical and warehouse strategies. He also dips his toe in sales and customer care when he has the time. Without doubt, he makes the best cup of tea to be had in the building!

Harry interfaces with our system to shoot all enquiries to the right people. Most interactions with customers go through him, so he has a good idea of the current status of most ongoing sales and buying deals. He also does some admin and accounts related work when he needs to. A great all rounder we couldn’t do without!

Lisa can usually be found in the warehouse checking, photographing and allocating new stock, or out on lab clearance missions, and all with a huge smile!

Sam’s attention to detail on site and off is invaluable. With items that are as sensitive and complicated as scientific equipment, we need someone who can spot if something’s missing or doesn’t look right when things come in and when they go out. He also helps Stuart and Eddie with picking, packing and dispatching.

Eddie is a safe pair of hands and can be relied on to track anything down. He can be found in the warehouse packing and dispatching orders, cleaning and testing, and generally keeping things going!

Dave is our in house engineer, he can usually be found in the warehouse tinkering or up in the kitchen chatting over a brew! He’s a great all rounder and knows his way around most things that come through the door.

Liz has a great eye for marketing! She keeps all our followers up to date with what’s going on here, and works out new areas we should be moving into. She is the life and soul of the annual Christmas do!
