The SpectraMax iD3 Multi-Mode Microplate Reader is a powerful, all-in-one solution designed to meet the evolving needs of modern laboratories. Paired with SoftMax Pro 7 Software, the iD3 empowers researchers to streamline their processes and achieve high-quality, reproducible results across a wide range of applications. Designed for ease of use and efficiency, the SpectraMax iD3 features a large, high-resolution touchscreen interface with embedded software, which allows users to set up and run experiments without the need for a dedicated computer. The built-in near-field communication (NFC) function enables instant access with a simple tap, saving valuable time and reducing the risk of setup errors. The system is also fully robotic-compatible, making it ideal for high-throughput environments.
The iD3 supports a wide range of plate formats from 6 to 384 wells which can accommodate cuvettes via an adapter, and uses a xenon flash lamp as its light source. The reader features both a Photomultiplier Tube (PMT) and Photodiode for high-sensitivity detection, and supports orbital shaking and precise temperature control from 5°C above ambient to 65°C. In terms of optical performance, the iD3 offers spectral scanning, endpoint, and kinetic reading capabilities across absorbance, fluorescence intensity, and luminescence modes. It allows well scanning over a 20×20 grid in all modes and provides wavelength selection in 1.0 nm increments. Standard read times are impressively fast, with a 96-well absorbance plate read in just 25 seconds, and a 384-well fluorescence intensity plate in under a minute.
