Description
The Agilent 6230 Time-of-Flight (TOF) LC/MS system combines liquid chromatography with accurate-mass detection to analyse complex samples. It separates compounds using liquid chromatography before measuring their mass-to-charge ratios with a time-of-flight mass analyser. This supports the identification and characterisation of small molecules and biomolecules across a range of research and analytical applications. Common applications for the 6230 include drug discovery, metabolomics, environmental testing and food analysis
Designed for accurate-mass analysis, the 6230 provides high mass resolution and a wide dynamic range. These capabilities help laboratories distinguish compounds from background interferences and detect low-level components in complex samples. The system is compatible with a range of Agilent LC modules and ion sources, allowing it to support different analytical workflows. Notably, this model is fitted with the Agilent Jet Stream technology, improving sensitivity by focusing the electrospray and increasing the number of ions entering the mass spectrometer. In addition, its compact benchtop design also helps make efficient use of laboratory space.
Included with the 6230 TOF LC/MS is an Agilent MS40+ Vacuum Pump, to maintain an ultra-high vacuum environment inside the mass spectrometer.
