Description
The Ytron Y Direct Jet Mixer is a vortex-free mixing system that employs a unique rotor–stator design. It generates a directed axial jet stream without rotation, ensuring uniform mixing throughout the vessel while preventing air entrainment, sedimentation, and surface floating.
Integrated flow deflectors within the stator eliminate the need for external baffles. Furthermore, the mixer operates with low shear, due to the short residence time of the product within the mixing head. Only the rotor comes into contact with the flowing product—a design that enables rapid processing times and significantly reduces mechanical stress.
Constructed to avoid the use of bearings or seals in the immersed section, minimises hygienic risks and simplifies maintenance. The system draws in free-flowing powders, such as silica, active carbon, HPMC, cocoa, flour, and carbon black, below the liquid level using the negative pressure created by the rotor-stator interaction. Lumps are not formed as these powders are instantly wetted, suspended, or dissolved.
For high-viscosity or difficult-to-dissolve products, the Ytron ByPass enables direct injection into the mixing zone, ensuring immediate dissolution or suspension. As a result, the directed jet stream provides thorough distribution of the product across the entire batch.
With a fluid handling capacity of 5,800 litres per minute, the Ytron Y mixer is ideal for high-throughput applications.
