Description
The Constant Systems Continuous Flow Cell Disruptor is a compact, benchtop instrument, that efficiently breaks open cell walls and membranes. Consequently, this process releases crucial inner cell contents—like DNA, RNA, and proteins—enabling researchers to isolate them for subsequent study or application. To achieve this, the system uses controlled high pressure and a rapid pressure drop mechanism to efficiently split the cells.
Engineered for efficient processing, the CF1 delivers a maximum process pressure of 40 kpsi (2,700 bar) and features an integrated cooling jacket for reliable sample temperature control. Furthermore, it comes equipped with a 200 mL inlet reservoir hopper, to hold and gravity-feed the samples into the disruption mechanism. In terms of capacity, a process volume of 100 mL a minute makes the CF1 suited to sample sizes of up to ten litres. Once the process completes, an auto-shutdown features activates, and all components can be easily dismantled for manual cleaning or autoclaving. For ease of use, the CF1 is situated on an optimum working height trolley, which is mounted on full swivel and lockable castors.
To complete this setup, a Cooling Solutions K1000 recirculating chiller. Pairing the chiller and cell disruptor prevents heat-induced denaturation of your sensitive samples whilst under high-pressure lysis.
