Description
The Thermo Scientific Heraeus Megafuge 16R is a mid-capacity, refrigerated centrifuge. As a benchtop model, the Megafuge 16R sits comfortably on the lab bench, and its compact dimensions maximise workspace. Ergonomically constructed, its low profile and curved design ensure the machine can be comfortably loaded and unloaded. Moreover, the motorised lid hatch makes for easy closing, with optional automatic lid opening at the end of the cycle. Furthermore, a large temperature range makes the Megafuge 16R ideal for a wide range of applications, including cell culture and blood processing.
In terms of performance the Megafuge 16R features a temperature range of between -10°C to +40°C, allowing for a greater range of temperature sensitive samples to be processed. A maximum speed of 4000 rpm can be reached with the supplied M-20 rotor; however, speeds of up to 15,200 rpm can be achieved with alternative rotors. Markedly, the Megafuge 16R has automatic rotor recognition, which helps prevent over-speeding and ensures user safety. Finally, a simple to use control panel allows the user to set speed, time and temperature, and the bright screen makes them easy to read.
