Description
The Sartorius Stedim Biostat STR2 Bioreactor is a single-use, stirred-tank bioreactor designed for controlled cell culture and bioprocessing applications. It provides reliable mixing and oxygen transfer while reducing the cleaning and sterilisation requirements associated with traditional stainless-steel vessels. With a 50 litre capacity, the STR2 is suited to smaller scale laboratory and production needs.
A key feature of the Biostat range is its employment of single-use Flexsafe STR bags. This method helps minimise the risk of cross-contamination and can significantly reduce turnaround time between batches. The stirred-tank geometry also supports predictable scale-up and process transfer, making the system suitable for applications involving monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, recombinant proteins and other biologics.
Also included with the bioreactor is a Stedim Biostat CultiBag STR Plus Control Tower. An industrial-grade control unit engineered specifically for managing stirred-tank bioreactor systems. This tower allows the user to set temperature, controls processes in the bag, and supplies the medium with the supply media such as oxygen or nitrogen
In addition, a FrigoMix 2000 chiller completes the system.
