Description
The Knauer K-7400S semi-micro osmometer is designed to measure both the osmolality and freezing point of aqueous solutions. It uses the established method of freezing point determination. This is a stand-alone instrument controlled via the keypad, all settings for calibrations and measurements can easily be changed and displayed. Each test takes approximately two minutes to complete, making it suitable for routine laboratory use.
This instrument operates with a sample volume between 50 and 150 µl and covers an osmolality range from 0 to 2000 mOsmol/kg. It includes two-point calibration as standard. A front-facing LED display shows two rows of information, each with up to 24 characters, allowing for clear monitoring during operation. The device has a Peltier cooler and an integrated microprocessor, which together manage the automated measurement process. An Edison printer is also included, providing a straightforward way to document results.
Weighing 4.5 kg, the unit is compact and easy to position within a lab environment. Its dimensions are 34 cm in length, 16 cm in width, and 18.2 cm in height, making it suitable for benchtop use without taking up excessive space.
