The internally uncoated capillaries are in sets of 16 arrays. Arrays of other lengths can provide support for multiple applications as well as run methodologies. They are specified for 100 runs on the 3130xl system. These arrays are also for use with industry-standard 96- and 384-well microtiter plates.
The 3130 POP-7,™ POP-6,™ and POP-4™ polymers (Performance Optimized Polymers) are for use on the Hitachi Applied Biosystems 3130xl Genetic Analyser as the separation matrix. Before each run, the capillaries automatically replenish with fresh electro-osmotic flow (EOF) suppression polymer.
The Hitachi Applied Biosystems 3130xl Genetic Analyser uses software for both data collection and auto analysis of sample files. Sample-file analysis is performed with Software running on the Windows XP platform, some allow for auto analysis too. The algorithm generates pure and mixed base calls with quality values for sequencing sample files.
The 3130 Series Systems can analyse many types of templates prepared by a variety of sample preparation protocols. Samples are automatically injected directly from 96- to 384-well microtiter plates.
The laser is Argon-ion multi-line, single mode with primary excitation lines: 488 and 514.5 nm.
Hitachi Applied Biosystems 3130 Series Genetic Analysers use both excitation and detection optics for enhanced signal uniformity.
These detection optics provide low-noise, full-spectrum data simultaneously from all capillaries. The outer diameter, inner diameter, and pitch of the capillary provide minimize loss of signal caused by refraction.
