GilSonic AutoSiever GA-6 Sonic Sifter offers the most precise and dependable separations for particle sizing of fine granular materials and dry powders ranging from No. 20 (850µm) to 5µm. The AutoSiever uses sonic sieving action with two-way (horizontal/vertical) tapping to achieve the most accurate and reliable particle separation of fine dry powders and granular materials.
This GilSonic AutoSiever GA-6 uses up to 3,600 sonic energy pulses/min to oscillate the air column enclosed within the sieve stack. This agitation continuously excites and reorients particles to the mesh surface. Programmable tapping both clears the sieves and prevents clumping of materials. Program this feature for horizontal and vertical, vertical only, or turned off completely, for instance.
The easy-to-use control panel allows fully customizable testing profiles assuring consistent, repeatable test results for even the most difficult materials. Save up to ten profiles to memory, consequently assuring repeatability for similar materials. Control functions for intensity, ramp/dwell, and total test time to assure fully customizable profiles. Sieving intensity (amplitude) is selected with a proportional power controller. The ramping function automatically increases power at a programmed rate for optimum separation of difficult materials.
The cabinet is powder-coated steel with a sliding acrylic door. The enclosed design operation reduces dust to help confine and control the airborne respirable particles in the breathing zone of personnel. Minimal training is required for proper operation.
Sample capacity is a function of particle size and material type. Large particle samples may range up to 20g or about 7cc. Samples with maximum particle sizes of 38µm (No. 400) should be about 10g or 4cc. For precision sieving with electroformed sieves down to 5µm, some samples may be as small as 1g.
When ready for testing, place the sieve stack atop the flexible-walled latex fines collector. Place a latex diaphragm on top of the sieve stack, sealing the air column in addition to confining the sample during testing. Then lock in place a column lock for a complete sieve stack assembly. Once assembled, insert the sieve stack assembly into the backlit testing chamber and secure in place for testing. Set the operating time anywhere up to 99.9 minutes. Test times may vary depending on both material type and particle size. Five minutes is the typical testing length, but some samples may be complete in as little as thirty seconds.
The AutoSiever accommodates either seven 3in woven-wire cloth standard Acrylic Frame Test Sieves or three 3in Precision Electroformed Nickel Mesh Sieves in the fixed height stack assembly.
